About

The University Library, Mangalayatan University Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh University is a Centre of information for the academic community of the University and is expected to be developed into a hub of knowledge to all the academic community and a gateway to national and global knowledge. It ensures fair access to knowledge to the academics on the campus in particular and to each individual related to the university in general. The Library started functioning in July 2020. Within a short period it could attain a considerable level of development and is moving fast towards a fully automated library. Library is using KOHA Software for automation.

Mission

In keeping with the vision and mission of the University, the library has been established to promote knowledge generation and application through its effective dissemination. The library, therefore, acts as the main learning resource Centre of the University and provides services and facilities to meet the requirements of the University's teaching, training, and research programmers.

Objectives

The library operates with the following objectives:

·  To support the learning process of the PhD/PG/UG students through provision of knowledge/information.

·     To meet knowledge/information needs of the faculty, to support their teaching activities.

·  To meet knowledge/information needs of the faculty and research staff to support their research activities.

·  To respond effectively, where possible, to the knowledge/information needs of the Universitys client systems.

• Rules & Regulations

  ·    Library will remain open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on all working days.

  ·   All day books will be Issued/Returned to all Students/ Faculty and Staff on all days except holidays and Non- working days.

  ·    The books will be issued for 15 days to students and for one month to the faculty and staff.

  ·    The Students who are pursuing the UG courses will be issued 2 books and PG students will be issued 3 books.

  ·    Every student faculty/Staff has to fill library membership form to use the library services.

  ·   Only after obtaining membership of the library the books will be issued to the Faculty/Staff and Students of the University from the Library.

  ·   Reference Books News Paper Journals/ Magazines /Encyclopedia/Dictionary etc. will not be issued only for reading purposes the same will be provided in the Library.

  ·   Before the start of the semester examination/Annual examination, it is mandatory for every student to obtain a No Dues certificate from the Library.

  ·   After the expiry of the time with regard to the issue of the book additional charges will be levied on the students @5 Rs. per day per book.

  ·   If any Book is found damaged/pages misplaced or out of the order the student has to bear the expenses or provide an new book/same edition and publisher preferably to the Librarian.

  ·    No Student is allowed to carry his/her bag and other books /material inside Library.

  ·  Every Student has to make an entry in the gate entry register /as kept by the Library In charge.

  ·  Talking/Gossip and Mobile Phone use are not allowed inside the Library.

  · Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the Library would be liable to lose the privilege of the Library membership and will be debarred from using Library facilities.

  ·  Suggestions on all aspects of Library services are welcome.
